This afternoon a cheque arrived from Manitoba Health for $405 and change. Exxxxxxxxxxxcellent! Most of it is already spoken for, but it's still good to have it in hand. I'll take it down to the bank tomorrow, along with a DC royalties cheque and the latest cheque from the HB publisher.

I'm still feeling a bit punky but have been proceeding with work. Somehow I find myself having to do less pages in the next day and a half than I'd anticipated (not that I'm complaining, mind you). George is also working faster than he expected and will be able to help me out, which drops my necessary pages-per-day count even lower. If I can wrap up ten more pages today I'll be on target, and I'm hoping to do more.

Dinner is on. Today I'm trying a variation on my meatloaf recipe, substituting a small tin of Primo pizza sauce for the ketchup and HP sauce; since this adds more liquid to the mix, I've upped the oatmeal content from 1/3 of a cup to 1/2 of a cup. We'll see how it turns out.

A letter arrived yesterday from Pharmacare dated February 21st, informing me that my application has been processed and that my deductible for this year (from April to April) is $1014. I'll have to add up my little stack of prescription receipts to see whether or not I've already hit that magic number; if I have, I might have a cheque coming to me for the amount that's over and above the deductible.

EDITED TO ADD: I just called the pharmacy and got them to check their system for the total. I'm about $400 over and above the deductible. Wahoo! Tomorrow I'll call Manitoba Health and ask them about whether or not that amount is coming back to me as a cheque.

I've got eight more pages to go in order to hit my MM daily target. I think I'll be able to actually go to bed by 11 pm tonight! Oh, the small joys.

I ended up going to FoodFare, where I did NOT get the sirloin tip roast. The butcher was willing to give me lean ground beef for the same price as regular (since they were all out of regular), and I took him up on his offer.

After much grocery shopping, I went to the corner of Corydon Avenue and Lilac Street to wait for a bus to take me up to the Pharma Plus with my heavy shopping bags. That's where I saw the handwritten poster featured in today's Project 365 shot. A tragedy writ small...

At Pharma Plus I was pleased to discover that the pharmacy was willing to fax my newly-completed Pharmacare form, which saves me both a stamp and the delay inherent in mailing it. I also found a bound notebook that I'm going to use for recipes AND Folger's Classic Roast coffee on sale for $4.77 per 1 kg container (I bought three). The package that was waiting for me at the post office turned out to be copies of the HB issue where another colorist subbed for me on the second half of the book. Amazingly, they actually managed to copy my style quite seamlessly.
