Who I am, and what to expect on my blog

I am 44 years old, married, with two cats, living in a third-floor walkup apartment in the Little Italy district of my home city, which is located in central Canada. It's a wonderful neighborhood, full of trendy little shops and restaurants, and I'm fortunate to have a close friend living in the same block.

I am a freelance commercial artist, specifically a comic book colorist, and have been in the industry for almost sixteen years. I have two regular ongoing projects, which are referred to by their initials for security reasons. Be prepared for posts about the tightness of deadlines and the wonders of being very short on sleep.

I have been practicing Wicca for fourteen years and am currently in a year-and-a-day oathbound group which forms the inner court of a monthly full moon worship group that I facilitate. Our goal is to knock together the framework of a working Tradition by next Imbolc. I will sometimes blog about Wiccan matters; these posts will often not be friendslocked or placed behind a cut.

I am working on a novel that started out as a NaNoWriMo project. While it's on hiatus now due to my heavy work load, I'll be posting about it periodically.

I am bisexual and take part in our city's Gay Pride march every year, as do the other members of the full moon group's inner court. Other than that, my sexuality is a private matter and you won't be seeing much of it on this blog, except for the occasional post about the beauty of slash pairings.

In the same vein, I write fanfic, usually slash. My favorite pairings currently are Neo/Smith (The Matrix), Professor Hobby/Gigolo Joe (A.I: Artificial Intelligence), and Bob/Megabyte (ReBoot). Every so often a piece of fanfic will pop up in my blog, and these are only visible to those on my Fan Fiction custom Friends group; they are also placed behind a cut.

I endure bouts of treatment-resistant depression and have been diagnosed on the Borderline Personality Disorder spectrum (at the low end, which means that I am highly functional and show few of the more grandious signs of the condition). Thanks to two rounds of Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, most of the symptoms of the BPD are now almost nonexistant. However, I will occasionally blog about depression and suicidality. These posts will be friendslocked and are usually placed behind a cut so that people have the choice of whether or not to read them.

I tend to blog about strange aspects of my day, interesting links, and any subject that I find amusing. In consequence, I update at least once a day, and often more.
