(Just because it's a neat subject line. Nothing to do with Hester Pryne.)
This post is, however, about a letter: specifically, the email I just sent to Kaja confessing that I am still in rough shape and asking her WHEN the specific page deadlines are so that I'll know if I'm about to miss them. I didn't come out and say I might miss a deadline, but I think it was pretty strongly implied.
I'm back swinging the cat on Girl Genius, having no idea why it's wracking me up so badly to do it.

I don't think your email implied that you might miss a deadline: it sounds to me like you were simply describing your situation to your editors. If they can't take into consideration that you are only human, well, phooey on them for failing at Human Understanding 101. Who do they work for? The Architect?!
For that matter, think of it this way: You're working at something which allows you to use one of your many talents. Please don't think I'm implying that it's easy: I realize that everyone's job, however much they enjoy it, can get frustrating. But there's some of us who, at least for some season of life, aren't so fortunate and have to work at something that doesn't put their talent(s) into play, or which actually exacerbates some of their weaknesses (Yep, I'm thinking of myself and my current job bagging groceries; I'm tempted to wear a sign on the back of my work smock, that reads "I'd rather be writing!").
I hope I don't sound like I'm rambling here. I just want you to know I'm here for you and I know a little of what you're going through.
