Last night's "Pagan Craft Night" went well -- Northlight and Eastpath were very helpful and patient, we gave the ritual a test-run, and Northlight did a lovely job of helping me paint up the panton I wasn't expecting and making it into MY panton, personalized and energized. I'm sure we all slept like the dead last night after so much hard work; I know I certainly did. (BTW, Eastpath, thank you for the Chai tea: I'm having a cup right now, and it's delicious!)
Semi-panic news on the ritual attendance front: two more people (at least) signed on at the last minute, bringing the total who'll be cramming my living room tomorrow to 13 or thereabouts. While this is spot-on the number for coven practice, it's a bit of a crowd for my small space. I'm sure we'll manage...
... still, today I came up from doing laundry and found that one of the stairways leading up past the top level of apartments had an open door at the top with outside light streaming in. I braved the steep climb to the top, and discovered a door that leads out onto the gravelled roof of the apartment building. "Hmmmmm," thinks I, "the building owner IS in the block doing renovations... maybe if I ask nicely enough, he'll consent to let us use the rooftop on Saturday night."
It's worth a try, anyway. If I run into him again today, I might it a shot -- if my courage holds up, that is! ("Excuse me, but I have a question: could myself and 12 friends use the roof on Saturday night to do a bit of stargazing and moonwatching? Ta ever so much!" ^_^) It might be more trouble than it's worth, especially since he strikes me as a bit conservative and thus not likely to give permission for a religious service of another faith to be conducted on his rooftop. And that's not even taking into account the safety issues that naturally spring to mind (I mean, it's a BIG rooftop with a tall lip around it, but I could envision someone getting silly and straying too close to the edge for comfort). Naw, if the weather's up for it at all, better to head out to the park, methinks. Pity, though. That roof IS awfully convenient.
Oh, and remember that Diana statue I expected to have for this ritual?

Yesterday I finally got fed up with waiting and phoned the company that was auctioning it on eBay, only to find that the paperwork had gotten misfiled and it hasn't even been SHIPPED yet. Plus, they're on back-order and not expected to arrive until sometime next week. *beats head against nearest flat surface* The company did try to make it right by offering me a similar statue (ie, one of Diana), but none of the others were as nice as the one I'd bid on, won, and was looking for in the mail. *sigh* They'll send me one as soon as they get more, and that's pretty much that. At least it will be here for the next full moon ritual I run. Or so they say. I'm holding off leaving an eBay review until I actually have the statue in my possession, but I don't anticipate leaving them positive feedback in any case.
Later today: More shopping for various ritual-related supplies and materials.
