It all began on the Godawful Fan Fiction (GAFF) forums, with a thread entitled "Meet The Biggest Dumbass In North America". The subject was a wanker who calls himself Toobis -- and when the guy posts rants with titles like "So you were raped, get over it!" and "Hitler: Was he really so bad?", can anyone blame us for making that particular judgement call?
The original Toobis site is gone, but his memory lingers like the stench of a rotten egg. Regardless of whether he's a troll or the real thing, a cry went up on the GAFF forums for an LJ community devoted to awards named in honor of the wankerness that is Toobis. So here we be.
The object of the game is to bring in sites, individuals, organizations, etc that embody the ideals that Toobis himself upheld: prejudice, misogyny, maliciousness, ignorance, childishness of the bad sort, and outright barking insanity. As the site graphic says: "World Wide Wank" in all shapes, sizes, and colors is welcome here -- the more outrageous the better. Who knows? We might even award prizes, and everybody likes prizes, right?
We're just getting started, so feel free to join, nominate, comment, make suggestions, and generally have fun. (And thank you, aki, for posting the original suggestion to create the community.)
