It used to be Christmas ornaments. Now it's penguins and the Aurora Australis. Next it will be a spacescape, but that won't be for a few days at least.

At midnight George and I watched the ball drop in New York on time-delay, and then danced to Billie Holiday singing "They Can't Take That Away from Me". After that we opened the front door of the apartment to symbolically let out the old year and welcome in the new. And then George went to bed -- he's been up since early Sunday afternoon. Me, I'm still awake and on the computer because the cats need to be fed. (It wouldn't do to have them go into 2008 hungry. Bad omen, that.)

A cheque arrived today, so we were able to do some necessary grocery shopping and pick up a gift basket for our caretaker and her family. Unfortunately she was not home to receive it this afternoon or this evening. Hopefully we can get it to her tomorrow.

Oh, and I picked up some sugar-free vanilla flavor from Starbucks. Squee!

I also watched part of Jesus Camp today. That is some seriously scary stuff.

Off to bed, and then onto HB tomorrow. I still don't have all the art that was promised to me by December 14th, but I don't want to fall too far behind schedule.

Here's hoping your New Years Eve was a good one, and that nobody has killer hangovers in the morning.

Love the new layout!

I have Jesus Camp saved on my DVR, and am really looking forward to watching it. Although it kind of feels like rubbernecking at a grisly wreck. Ew.
