This evening I was introduced to what has to be THE best restaurant I have ever experienced:

Mongo's Grill

It's an all-you-can-eat place, and the idea is that you take a bowl, fill it with anything you like from their selection of starters, vegetables, and sauces/oils, and then watch while highly entertaining chefs gathered around huge circular grill cook everything right before your eyes. Then they skillfully slip your succulently cooked combo into a new bowl and present it to you, piping hot.

YUM.

I repeat: YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. ^_^ And that's nowhere near enough "M"s to fully convey the true yumminess of the situation.

I got through two bowls. The first was a mix of chicken, steamed noodles, cheese, mushrooms, baby corn, snow peas, and water chestnuts with teriyaki and garlic sauces (plus a ladle of olive oil), with a small spoonful of Cajun spices and ginger added on top. The second was a mix of beef, steamed noodles, cheese, baby corn, snow peas, and matchstick carrot with teriyaki, orange pineapple, and red wine sauces (plus olive oil), again with a hint of Cajun spices and ginger. Needless to say I was NOT counting my carbs! And it was worth every sinful second. I certainly had no room for dessert by the time I was done, even if I'd been inclined to break the diabetic eating rules to that extent.

In other news... I've just wrapped up the latest MM assignment. Yay. And although the Winnipeg Free Press ran an URL for the Misty Gardens group I created, they ran the wrong URL (the URL of the main LiveJournal page instead of the community site). Boo.

Off to bed soon... tomorrow is the Full Moon ritual, and we have to do some grocery shopping in the morning.

EDITED TO ADD: There's even a community over on Facebook devoted to Mongo's. Too cool.

There are quite a few Mongolian grill style restaurants in Vancouver.... so yummy! I totally agree! :D The first time I went to one they had a "guess the weight of your dish and get it for free" contest thing. LOL I didn't guess right.

OOOOOOOO Full Moon! Just think, I can come to the next one :D :D :D :D :D And I'm only FOUR apartments awayyyyy!!!

*So excited I could pop*

Neil adores Mongolian-style barbecue. There's a place not too far from our house. Yum! Yay, Mongo's! (If we ever get to visit up your way, we can go there for supper!)

OMFG! This is the first time you've been there? God I've been lax. The first time me a Doug went we got through five bowls apiece and ate for an hour.

I failed you as a friend and am sorry. I should have been the one to pop your Mongos cherry.

When Eastpath and her hubby come back we should have head out there.

By the way, every thing there is better with cheese!
