Just found out how many calories I have to burn to lose a pound of fat: 3500.

Also found out how many calories 30 minutes of step aerobics burns: approximately 290.

Am now VERY depressed and discouraged.

Major dietary adjustments are in order.

I've been forever amused by the burning calories thing since it was found reading a book burns more calories than watching TV.

Don't get caught up in the numbers. The numbers kill people every time.

If you feel good, then do it. Really... in the grand scheme of things you're ahead of the game... if you let numbers come into the picture it'll just wreck it for you

yeah but a pound of fat is a lot.30 mins of step aerobics per day will add up. not to mention it's not only for loosing fat.
