Well, the Hardy Boys Graphic Novel #5 cheque arrived today -- just in time, by literally seconds, to cover the outgoing rent cheque. *whew* They subtracted the FedEx cost from it, but since I originally suggested this in order to persuade them to get the cheque to me ASAP, I really can't complain (even though it WAS their fault that the damned thing was so late in the first place).
And 41 pages of new material for the HBGN6 have just showed up on the NBM server. Damn it, I have GOT to have a word with the editor about instructing the artist NOT to sit on finished pages (which I've been waiting on for the last week)... it really plays holy hell with my production schedule.
Oh, and Spock, Messiah!, which I finished yesterday evening, WAS as bad as I remember. In particular, its characterization of Mohammed as an insane megalomaniac wouldn't pass muster today, but hey, this was written back in 1976. *grimace* That and the fact that the authors had no idea how far a parsec is (they seemed to think it was about 10 light years long), as well as '70's slang scattered throught the dialogue early in the book... let's just say I must have been the fanpoodle to end all fanpoodles to think it was actually any good. Mind you, it had Spock in it, which at the time was more than good enough for me.
*hums softly to self, remembering those heady days of uncritical fannishaddiction enthusiasm*
But now I am a pro, and have put fannish things aside. For the most part. I'm running two RPs based on existing universes, so I suppose that has to count. But my greatest fannish achievements were probably Clear and Haunting Visions, the A.I.: Artificial Intelligence annotated links site (which I really should get around to doing housekeeping on one of these days) and The A.I. Image Bank Project, which features 1100+ screencaps of the movie, plus some the nicest banners I've ever come up with.
A sample:

Be warned: the initial pop-up ads on the Image Bank Project site can be vicious, and you might have to refresh the front page a time or two to get rid of them, but they're mostly harmless (at least to me, on a Mac platform).
Okay. Off to do step exercises, probably, then onto the new Hardy Boys material.
