Good news from my GP today: he's not putting me on diabetes medication right away, or on Lipitor, which apparently is now recommended for diabetics (since high cholesterol goes with high blood sugar). Instead he's waiting 3 more months to see how diet and exercise do. I got some bloodwork done today, including a 3-month blood sugar level, and made an appointment to have a flu shot in about a month's time.

Stopped at a fabric store on my way home and picked up some black rattail silk cord to make a witches' ladder. Now I just have to cleanse it and tie 40 knots into it, after which I'll keep it under my pillow to use as a rosary.

Last night's affirmations before going to sleep, repeated 40 times each: "I will sleep well and awake refreshed" and "I will go about my work eagerly". Sound familiar? Yep, I've used them before, and they seem to work. I've also made a conscious decision to change my mental attitude toward the Hardy Boys job and how the artist is handling it. Daniel is NOT my enemy, and is probably not deliberately setting out to make my job harder. He's just trying to get the pages out as quick as he can. Resenting his shortcuts doesn't help at my end and in fact is probably counterproductive. So -- instead, I'll try to look at each page for good points and play those up as much as I can, viewing each as an opportunity to turn out some good work.

Heh. I feel better already.

Yay for positive thinking! Good luck with that and I do hope it works out for you!
