Yesterday was another "lost day" in bed -- this time, finally, I bit the bullet and took a 25 mg Seroquil tablet, broken up into two doses through the day. It didn't have the "two-by-four to the forebrain" effect I was dreading; instead, it left me fairly lucid, but slowed up a bit and less pained by my thoughts. *raises an eyebrow* Quite different from the initial side-effects of the Risperdol, which were much more of the "whacked upside the head" variety. In any case, a break from suicidal ideation was quite welcome.
Bad news from my GP yesterday, unfortunately. My fasting blood sugar test from Monday stood at around 12; my 3-month, at around 8. I have one month to get the numbers down or he wants to put me on diabetes medication. Talk about incentive to eat well and exercise! 0.o (This incident was what prompted the taking of the first dose of Seroquil...)
Today I got some Girl Genius done (all progress being good progress) and tomorrow is the Beltane in the Park festival at Assiniboine Park, where I'll be setting up a little portable shrine I've created where people can burn offerings of incense or offer up a prayer to the Lord and Lady if they're so inclined. I'll have to be at least functional enough tomorrow to sit beside it and look like I have some idea of what's going on ;-) -- therefore, in spite of feeling fairly miserable at the moment, I'll forego the Seroquil unless absolutely necessary.
