By about this time tomorrow night, I should be juuuuuuuuust about starting to panic in earnest.
The ritual, barring an armed revolution by the participants, will be held indoors. I spent the afternoon while George was out at a lunch meeting going over the ritual and rehearsing the spoken liturgy, then had a peaceful nap on the couch. After George got back late from said meeting (and me in an increasing state of worry because he should have been back hours ago and it's not like him not to call, but apparently the person he was meeting with just would not shut up), I ran out the door just in time to shop for two light blankets to throw over the couch (which is in desperate need of a cleaning) and the coffee table (which will be doing duty tomorrow night as a bench for folks to sit on since we're woefully short of chairs for 13 people), some candles, paper plates and plastic cutlery, and 10 cans of Puritan Frontier Stew. *beats head against wall* Someone remind me, why do I DO this stuff, anyway?
And then there was the call from Phil Foglio... I paraphrase:
Me: "Hi, Phil, what's up?"
Phil, in a mildly panicked voice: "Hi, Laurie... listen, when can we expect to see more pages?"
Me, puzzled, because I'm three pages ahead of deadline: "Monday, maybe Tuesday next week. Why?"
Phil: "Oh, not good... we need them for Monday..."
Me, after a pause while I put all the clues together: "Phil, have Kaja look on the server. I've already uploaded pages 4, 5, and 6 for you."
Phil: "... Oops." Another pause: "Well, she's ready to throw something out the window, because she just accidentally deleted them."
Me: "I'll have them re-uploaded in five minutes."
And I did.
Currently in RP chat with Puck, Becca, and MR, and thinking about going to bed fairly soon so I can get up early, clean out the fridge, do last minute shopping/cleaning/prep, and maybe even still have time to do some work afterwards, before the ritual.
