Ready? Here we go...
Good News: I'm two-and-a-bit pages away from finishing the current Hardy Boys graphic novel. Hoo-fucking-rah!
Bad News: The NBM Papercuts server is full -- yes, FULL -- so I can't upload the latest crop of pages I've completed. Hence, I can't invoice for them. What kind of publishing outfit lets its server get FULL? *shakes head in dismay*
Good News: I finally got my good pair of eyeglasses fixed. They're perfectly round gold-framed numbers, specifically The Walrus from the John Lennon Collection. I picked them up a few years ago and loved them to bits, literally (the bridge wore away and broke), and perfectly round glasses are not to be had for love nor money, apparently. So, fortunately, my husband's optometrist was able to solder me a new bridge for about $20. Joyyyyyyy!
Bad News: I've been up all freakin' night doing Hardy Boys. *mutter, snarl, weep softly, mutter some more*
Good News: Starbucks is now open, and there is a Vanilla Latte and a death-by-sugar pecan tart in my future. Not sure exactly when, but it's coming. Oh, yes.
Bad News: The depression has not noticably abated in the last couple of days. I intermittantly feel like I'm crawling out of my skin.
Good News: Mmmmm, pecan tart. There are baked goods in the world. MUCH rejoicing.
Bad News: 362 days ago, Micawber died. I'm starting to miss him terribly. Again.
Good News: My mother made a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society in his name. I just got the lovely little card from them yesterday, thusly:
The Winnipeg Humane Society extends its sympathy in your bereavement and is the grateful recipient of a contribution.
May the knowledge that this gift is directed toward the care and protection of abandoned and abused animals be of comfort to you at this time.
And it is.
