Wahoo! NOW it's winter in Winnipeg, baby!
About a foot (or more) of snow has fallen since 6 pm tonight, and another foot to foot-and-a-half is expected by morning. I was at the downtown studio when it struck and barely got home when I left just after midnight -- buses were way behind schedule, snowplows are EVERYWHERE, and I had to fight my way through half a block of high snowdrifts just to get to my apartment from the bus stop. (In fact, every time the bus stopped, the whining growl of the engine hinted that this time, it might not get going again... in some places, there was a couple of feet of snow dividing lanes of traffic.)
And tomorrow -- ta dah! -- the whole city gets to play Snowplow Roulette: "Will MY bus route be the one that gets plowed first?" Now, Corydon Avenue (half a block from my house) is one of two main east-west routes on the west quarter of the city that lies south of the Assiniboine River. The other one is Grant, which is twelve or so blocks south of us. If Corydon Avenue gets plowed first, wahoo! I can go in and paint Star Wars flats, and all is happy-good. If Grant gets plowed first... *winces* I might not get downtown at all tomorrow.
Winter in Winnipeg. Gotta love it, because we're all too silly/lazy/enamoured of the city's charms to move. >.<
And on a completely unrelated note (and an odd one, since I'm not even a Harry Potter fan):

Well you're one smart little cookie, aren't you? You're wise and clever, and just love to use your wit and learning to your advantage, and sometimes even the disadvantage of others. Well, nerd, there IS a world outside of that copy of 'Hogwarts: A History', you know... Oh don't worry! We all know you're special. You're just a naturally good learner, right? Not too much is known about your house right now.. Wow! Not only are you intellegent, you're also an enigma!
Maybe one of you can tell me what that means. *grin*
