The trade show was bad. The cold that followed is almost worse.

Gak. Cough. Snork. Sniffle!

Although I dressed for Saturday and Sunday, the ambient temperature of the trade show exhibit space never rose above 15 degrees C (about 60 degrees F). Another artist at the site had a miserable earache by Sunday morning; my illness at least had the courtesy to hold off until Monday morning, when I woke up feeling like I'd inhaled/swallowed battery acid. I had to call in and cancel my first shift back at Ipsos-Reid in almost two and a half months, a fact about which I am NOT pleased in the least, and I was too sick even to work in the home studio.

It's a bit better today (at least my head doesn't feel like it's ready to fly apart every time I move), but ooh, my goodness, they are going to have to offer me a LOT of incentives if they want me to do that show next year. Right now I'm rather short on the milk of human kindness and/or charity.

On a positive note, the meeting with my psychiatrist today went well. It looks like I might be on his permanent patient roster (joy!) and he was kind enough to give me some sample meds, which will save me nearly $100 in the next month or so, money I could definitely put to better use in the food-and-transportation department.

hi Laurie
Sorry to hear you're not well ((hugs))). Get to bed with some hot chicken soup, you!!! ;)
Colds seem to be running rampant right now. At the health centre/care home where i have my practicum, one ward is infected with flu and another one has various ppl with colds. That plus the daycare equals a germ farm lol..i just am hoping i don't get sick.

Regarding your meds..do you have any sort of prescription coverage? You may want to look into seeing if you're eligible for pharmacare, or contacting the mental health assoc. of MB to see what resources there are for you. I just know that anti depressant/anxiety meds sure can eat a hole in the budget. If i didn't have a student plan through school(80% coverage) i would be paying about 50.00 for my anxiety meds alone, and that's at the generic price! That's another thing..check with your pharmacy if there's a generic substitute for your meds. I am using generic paroxetine (Paxil) and the chemical composition is identical..it's just about 20.00 cheaper.
Best of luck and get well soon!
