I phoned Dr. S, my psychiatrist, to update him on Dr. E's findings. The first thing that came to mind for Dr. S is that the Risperdone I'm on (an atypical antipsychotic) could well be elevating my prolactin levels. And my psych meds being out of balance due to changes in my overall psychological condition might be responsible for my fatigue. When I see him next week, we'll look at adjusting my medication load. Not a conversation I'm looking forward to.
So, I've got my gynecologist on the 20th to discuss a hysterectomy, my psychiatrist on the 21st to talk about cutting some of the strings of my parachute, and my GP on the 24th to talk about why my hormones are out of whack and why I'm so tired, tired, tired all the time.
Welcome to Happyville, population: me.
