Over on
solitarywiccans, someone is describing a situation where a charm (from a charm bracelet) went missing, and... well, I'm including the text of the post here in case the OP decides to take it down, because the responses she is getting are NOT encouraging.

i was thinking about this just now as i was deleting old email lol
beltane 08 story of interest:
a local coven invited a girlfriend of mine to their beltane ritual. they are an eccletic coven with members mostly in their mid twenties. one of the girls follows asatru and is very crafty - she made a charm bracelet out of sacred symbols of norse mythology. and blessed it and all that. made it sacred lol. towards the end of the lovely ritual, asatru girl noticed a thor's hammer missing. they rummaged through the apartment, the walkways and her car looking for it, because she treasured it so. my girlfriend, having listened to me prattle about such occurences a lot, just sat there amongst the chaos and kept saying, "maybe it went to someone who needed it more." which offended the high priest/ess. idky.
when i got home from florida pagan gathering later that weekend, she called me. "omfg sarah, blah blah blah and when i got home i looked in my purse and there it is! how amazing!" hell of a blessing from the gods eh?
the coven was convinced she stole it. they were interviewing her to possibly become a student and initiate into their coven and denied her because of the "possibility" that she could have stolen it.
i bitched out the hp, a friend, and tried to understand WHY he couldnt accept that weird shit like that happens. we are witches, we are pagan, we do magick and EXPECT weird shit and blessings to randomly happen. "i cant believe that the mundane and the spiritual realms can merge for somethign like that to happen. if magick happens, it is on the spiritual realm, it cant happen HERE."
a good friend of mine scorns their coven, calling them "insta-witches" in how they base their entire craft on book reading vs experiential. and how they can call themselves a teaching coven when they are obviously still learning themselves. and the fact how i, 5 years their junior, can bitch them out about such things and how doing so tossed out what meager friendships we had in the first place.
what is your opinion of his views, his beliefs and/or of this intriguing situation.
blessed be ya'll
