Oh my Gods, the stupidity, it burns like the sun!

The question:

Just got back from a mission on a reservation in NM & Im wondering why the Indian is so slow to accept Christ?

anybody else have this problem?

Needless to say he's getting his ass handed to him. But still... there are actually people who still think this way?

I'm all for sharing the Gospel with the curious (and only the curious), but... that "anyone else having this problem?" sounds more like someone on the Matrix Online forum asking about a wierd bug they ran across ingame.

Yes, racist a**holes like this exist, sadly enough.
I just can't believe that they have the nuggets to post this on a public forum. Sick, Sick, sick.
I see his orfice has been suitably torn, but I think I'm going to march down there and say my piece..I just can't let this one go, for obvious reasons.

"...why the Indian is so slow to accept Christ?"

Wellll...it could have something to do with the fact that said religion came from the people who were more or less behaving like hostile invaders, but perhaps I'm just being silly.

Interesting enough, not all native tribes were hostile to Christianity. The Cherokee had a triune deity who was very similar to the Father, Son and Holy Ghost of Christianity, for instance.

I'm almost inclined to call troll on that one.

Yeah, the "anyone else have this problem?" is kind of a dead give-away

And the fact that he created the account today. If it weren't for people who say that sort of thing and mean it, no one would be taken in.

I ask in return: "Why is the white man so slow? Five centuries, and he still hasn't figured out that this continent isn't India?"

I clicked through from the "moral refusal" discussion on [livejournal.com profile] flamingchords's LJ.

I wish I could simply say, "Well, it's Yahoo! Answers; sometimes it makes [livejournal.com profile] ohnotheydidnt look like a MENSA convention." And I wish I could be blasé about the deep pockets of ignorance and racism in the U.S., and how often they overlap with the devoutly xtian pockets.

But, honestly, I'm stunned. I hope that one of the commenters is right in that the OP has probably never been near a reservation in his life and is just trying to stir up shit.

Incidentally, if you need something else fundie-related to rant about, I suggest reading this post and following the links.
