Later tonight there will be meatloaf. This cheers me up a little in the middle of what has turned out to be a pretty shitty day.
First, I had nightmares last night, the kind of nightmares that cling to your waking mind and follow you all day long -- mostly about friends, betrayal by friends, disappointing friends, et cetera, yadda yadda. On top of the nagging unease that caused, I've been worried about Mina and her eye/nose (although her eye has been clearing up as the day goes on, just as it did yesterday). Third, I need to get my ass in gear on the latest batch of MM, and I can't seem to get my creative spark plugs to fire. Fouth, I feel physically exhausted for no apparent reason. Fifth... nah, four is enough, especially when you're not counting your blessings.
Today's blessings: First, Mina isn't getting any worse. Second, we got a cheque today (not the big French cheque, but enough), so we can take her to see a vet tomorrow afternoon. Third, the vet we're taking Mina to see is one that my mother was quite fond of when she was alive. Fourth, I have work -- never something to be taken for granted in the freelance art world. And fifth, there'll be meatloaf for supper.
Any day that the blessings outweigh the not-blessings has something to be said for it.

Every other clock in the house, though (except for my mother's clock) had to be reset when we got up this morning.
