I made it to the store and back in near-record time. I forgot to pick up fruit, but other than that I got everything I was thinking of.

The latest Environment Canada weather warning is predicting winds of 60-70 kilometers an hour starting later this evening. There'll only be 2 or 3 centimeters of snow, but those winds will be whipping it (along with the snow that's already fallen) into a frenzy. The windchill will be astronomical. EC is asking people not to travel outside of urban areas unless absolutely necessary, and if they do have to travel they're being asked to take a survival kit with them in case their car breaks down. Under the conditions that are coming, death can happen pretty quickly in a vehicle stranded on the flatlands of Manitoba.

It's bloody amazing that anyone lives here at all, much less settled here in the first place.

We went to food fare.... and also forgot something (eggs for meatballs, uh oh) but were out and back very fast... thank goodness! I'm kind of excited to hear the wind... *grin* :) Glad I live in a nice cozy warm place!! ^_^

*lol* I thought you might ask, I asked Moses in the event you asked and he's decided to take a different approach, using milk and something else with some bread... So thank you for the offer! :D Though you can save your eggs ;)

He said if you are in need of fruit we have some *very* ripe bananas up for the taking *rofl* They are worthy of making a banana bread *LOL* So I'd ignore his offer ;D

LOL... thanks, I think I'll pass on the bananas. They sound too ripe even for George. (I'm a barely-out-of-the-green-stage banana person myself.)

No, they are so ripe I won't touch them, bleh! They are very banana bread bound ;) He was being a smart ass as usual, gotta love him... well I do, you don't *LOL*

For me a banana has to be all yellow with like one or two teeny-tiny little brown spots on it to be perfect.

Snow... *sigh* Blizzards... *second sigh* California's weather is so boring, especially where we are.

Heehee..while most snae canuks are hiding I'm celebrating! I'm all excited over here. BLIZZARD! Wooop! BAD WEATHER!

I swear...my real parents are aliens. I LOVE winter. Stocked up on candles and water with a flashlight and emergency radio. Just no food :-P. Mind you I have enough bread and pasta to 'sink a fleet' to badly misquote 'The day after Tomorrow'. I even have enough rope to tie to the door if I have to leave the apartment and the visibility is zero. Highly unlikely, but hey. Always good to have.

What I find more amazing is that some of us have moved to more temperate climates... and then moved back!
