Tomorrow morning is the sigmoidoscopy. Tonight I have to follow certain dietary restrictions and take some medication that is not going to make my body very happy.

I find myself quite worried. There is apparently an approximately 1 in 2000 chance that the sigmoidoscope will perforate the bowel; if that happens and I start bleeding heavily, they'll have to rush me into surgery to repair the damage. In any case, the nature of the procedure is not one that fills me with anticipation and joy.

So if this turns out to be my last entry, ever, I just wanted to say thanks to everybody who has read and commented over the years. You've been a great source of inspiration and support, and those of you who are on my Friends page, I've always loved having a window into your thoughts.

Goddess and God bless you all, every one.

Thanks! I made it through all right, and I appreciate the positive thoughts you sent my way. I'm sure they were there, helping me to hang tough when the going got painful.
