Last night George and I hugged each other and cried. Afterwards I got back to work but couldn't really concentrate, so I wrote my TFTC editor an email explaining that I'd received the bad news and needed a couple of days to deal with it as well as attend an appointment, which means that the story will be a couple of days behind schedule. Then, as thoughts of losing George also began to snowball in my mind, I elected to take a tranquillizer and go to bed.
I slept late, and early this afternoon went to see my general practitioner, with my mother tagging along (as you can imagine, she's interested in spending as much time as possible with me at the moment). I left the office with a couple of different prescriptions, including one for a type of birth control pill that might help alleviate the murderous PMS I've been suffering as well as the projectile bleeding that seem to accompany my periods these days. The doctor also agreed to set me up with an endocrinologist (my mother has pseudohypoparathyroidism and it runs in families, so I should be tested). We'll have to see how long THAT takes.
Afterwards, although I really didn't have time for it with the deadline crunch I'm under, I went for lunch with my mother. And I'm glad I did.
This evening we found out that my mother has an appointment to view three apartments in our block tomorrow evening at 7:30 pm. Our own apartment is a mess, but I suppose she (and we) will deal with that.
And I still haven't heard back from my TFTC editor. This could be bad. I'm also still waiting on a cheque from them for the last HB graphic novel. This could also be bad. If it doesn't come tomorrow, I'll have to email that same editor and try to arrange for a new cheque to be FedExed out to us (on our dime, of course).
I know I've thanked you each individually, but THANK YOU to everyone who responded to my last post. It really helped me get my head on straight during a really nasty few hours. I'm feeling better today, in part because of the tranquillizer last night.
