*snarl*

I can't believe that. Glastonbury is generally a place where all faiths coexist pretty well, hence the strong christian influence of the Abbey built over a pagan sacred place.

Ignorant idiots. *fumes*

Christ on a cracker.

Way to love thy neighbour, asshole.

*flails at the idiots, attempts to dislodge them from her religion*

"Love thy neighbour as thyself." What's so hard about that? *sigh* It's a pity that the people like that are so often identified as "Christian," because they sure don't act very Christian.

I am sorry this happened.

**Sigh**

Glad this doesn't happen all the time.

"Apparently this man was not a diligent follower of the teachings of Christ. It was my understanding that Christ taught compassion and tolerance rather than hatred and ignorance."

Isn't it sad that the local Archdruid has a better understanding of what Christianity is supposed to be than some who ostensibly follow it's teachings? That the shopkeeper who was harassed is a grandmother shows what great cowards they are. I suspect they didn't fling anything (verbal or otherwise) at someone who would be capable of retaliating with physical force.

Ugh. GRRRR. There's NO excuse for doing that to any shopkeeper or grandmother. Saying you're Christian not only doesn't cut it; it means tarring innocent people by claiming you and they agree on what compassion, tolerance and charity mean.

I'm glad the local Christian groups made a point of saying the people who did it were Not welcome in town, and made direct apologies and dialogue with the shopkeeper. Having something good come out of ill is never enough to make the ill better, but... it leaves hope open.
