This is getting annoying. My past 4 shifts at I-R have been cut short due to lack of work. Old-timers I've spoken to at the company say this happens every year and things should pick up around the last week in February or first week in March, but still... grrrrrr.

I'm actually well enough now (thanks to nortriptyline) to work a full 21 hours a week, AND I've found a voice that puts me ahead of the median group flowrate (at least an octave highter than my normal contralto and apparently hitting the subconscious "young and unthreatening female" buttons in my listeners). Having hours cut at this time is most frustrating.

On the plus side, over half of "Girl Genius" #11 is on my hard drive and at $75 US per page, that will bring in a pretty chunk of change in time for our moving. And there's still the possibility of work laying flats for a local comic colorist, at $40 CAN per page.

Guess I'll use tonight to either (a) paint Girl Genius, or (b) go to bed early and catch up on sleep. In any case, I'll keep an eye on my email (assuming I can get it to work -- Canada.com seems to be having trouble loading its inboxes). Perhaps something will present itself!

I understand being frustrated about going home early. We're in a slump too, and I have to send sometimes 10 people home.. which isn't the greatest, especially when there is only 12 people scheduled.. o_O! It'll get better :D

*HUGS*

Glad you are doing so well!
