The latest Hardy Boys deadline is riding me like a monkey on crack. So, what else is new? :-P I've had to cancel several social engagements in the coming week, including my usual attendance at the fourth-Tuesday-of-the-month Witches Meetup and (probably) my presence at the Beltane rehearsal on Thursday. I'll probably be able to fit in a quick coffee with my friend T on Wednesday after the DBT class at the Health Sciences Centre, but... gah. It all depends on how much work I can cram into the next 48 hours.
I will be making time for exercise, though. The last few days I've been using the Jane Fonda's Step Aerobics and Abdominal Workout video I first rented from the library a couple of weeks back, and today I'll probably try Richard Simmons: Dance Your Pants Off!, which I rented from the library last week after trying his Disco Sweat video and finding it unappealing. Dance Your Pants Off! has the advantage of offering a steady workout which gradually increases in intensity, as opposed to Disco Sweat, which featured "heat up" and "cool down" intervals, making for an uneven cardio workout. Now we'll just have to see if I can dance to it. ;-)
Put up a notice on Witchvox a couple of days ago for this year's Beltane in the Park celebration. It'll be Winnipeg's 19th (I think) public Beltane festival, and will feature an outdoor ritual, a potluck dinner, and a Maypole dance to cap off the afternoon. I'll be playing the role of High Priest since the Circle of Artemis is a women-only group. We have robes and chaplets ready-made (the chaplets just need to have some fresh flowers woven into them on the day), all the ritual players have been chosen, and with a few rehearsals we should be good to go.
*sigh* Back to Hardy Boys. This graphic novel is set in a real-world location, so I've been having fun trying to find visual reference and come up with a palette to match. Ah, well -- once the background colors are in, it's pretty much all over except the shouting, since the modelling of figures on this book is SO basic (hard edges in anime style plus the occasional grad). It's just that immersing myself in that world for 12-16 hours at a stretch can be headache- (as well as sometimes panic-) inducing.
To quote the cartoonist Seth, it's a good life if you don't weaken.

The key is NOT to think of descriptions like "Gayer than a tree full of monkeys on nitrous oxide".

Plus he's just too damn peppy. People like me who are reluctant to exercise in the first place have a hard time with people being that peppy.

Actually, I enjoy his campiness -- and his enthusiasm is infectious. :-D

BTW, were you still interested in that Kathy Smith step video? I'd sent you an email about it, but hadn't heard back.

I'm definately still interested in the video. I don't recall seeing your email. If it ended up in my Junkmail box I may have missed it and deleted it, though. Would you like to get together for lunch or coffee sometime after your Hardy Boys deadline?
