Yesterday at George's family's Christmas get-together was all right. We're not doing the Secret Santa gift exchange until New Years Day; hopefully George and I will be able to make it out for that.

The focus of the evening was the dinner -- turkey, ham, meatballs, holobchi, mashed potatoes, kernel corn, four different kinds of salad, and so on -- but for me, the absolute highlight gastonomically speaking was the Christmas pudding with non-alcoholic rum sauce. I haven't had it in years, and it's never been served at the Christmas gathering before. *nom nom nom*

As we were departing, George's sister foisted a cake upon us -- I'd guess 9"x12", marble with a Bavarian creme ribbon. I was able to give half of it to [livejournal.com profile] eastpath, and tried a little bit myself before going to bed, but it was far too sweet for me.

I got up at 10 am today and have already cleaned up the living room and done all the dishes that had accumulated since the Full Moon Group ritual on Saturday. Now I'm enjoying a hot cup of Campbell's Tomato Soup with Kraft parmasan cheese sprinkled in. Early this evening we're going to go over to have a Boxing Day dinner with [livejournal.com profile] chimera452's family -- ham soup, if I recall correctly, along with an assortment of delicious baked goodies ([livejournal.com profile] chimera452 is an AMAZING cook).

I'm a little tired after all the socializing, but life's not bad right now.
