I mean... buh. If this is a troll, it's a head-scratcher. If it's a Christian seriously trying to convert us, it's even more so. In either case, apparently this person needs a dictionary with the word "subtlety" underlined, highlighted, and preferably embossed.
I'm down to 3 pages on TFTC. Huzzah.
The Wacom tablet on our G4 went feet-up last night. We checked and reinstalled the software first, to no effect; then we tried hooking it up to the iMac, and when the little light STILL didn't come on we knew that meant that the tablet itself was fucked. Much concern ensued, since this means that George and I can no longer work at the same time on different machines.
We hauled out our 12-inch dinosaur of a Wacom tablet that weighs about 5 pounds and was our first Wacom ever, and used a serial-to-USB adaptor to hook it up to the G4; miraculously, in spite of being over 10 years old and beat all to hell, it still works, although you have to use a LOT more pressure on the pen than you do on the modern Wacoms.
Then, early this morning, George hooked the "dead" Wacom back up to the G4 on impulse -- and the power light came on. He reinstalled the drivers and it is now working perfectly, although for how long is anyone's guess. (To be fair, it IS six years old, and has certainly paid its dues.) New ones cost about $130, an expense that we'd really rather not face until we have the HB graphic novel cheque in the house.
My editor emailed me this morning to let me know two things. First, he's kicked the question of a new cheque up to HIS boss, who should be getting in touch with me "soon". Joy. Second, apparently all the pages I've been coloring on TFTC are the wrong size -- that is, too small. He wanted to know if I could color the remaining pages at the new size.
*headdesk, repeatedly*
I emailed him back and told him no, that won't work, because I'd have to size all the flats I've laid up to the new size, which would blur all color lines not covered by linework, which would require major touch-ups on all pages, and then
(*Bing!* says my email program, and when I go to check it...)
Well. This very second an email arrived from him stating that we'll go with the art as is. Whew. The headaches of resizing everything would be horrible to contemplate.
And so, back to work.
