I slept miserably last night -- kept waking up in pain and with feverish thoughts. Looks like I've got the flu rather than a cold. Lucky me.

More Neo Citran down the hatch, chased with a cop of strong coffee, and I'm feeling moderately human. But you should have seen the stuff that came out of my nose when I got up. Er... okay, maybe not, lol, but it was yellow and bloody and does not bode well for the state of affairs further up the sinus cavities.

On the positive side, I finally got a call back from Quagga, and am scheduled for a training shift on Saturday December 31st. I've also finished one page of Hardy Boys already today with relatively little mental pain and drama. Talked with my mom on the phone, and got the "you have diabetes now, if you have the flu you've GOT to be careful!" lecture. I honestly can't see where the great danger is, but if things don't shape up by Tuesday I guess I'll have to drag myself in to see a walk-in clinic doctor.

Tonight: the Full Moon ritual. Bleagh. Gahhh. And various other grunts and moaning sounds.

It's this bloody flu... but today when I went to the grocery store, I got $60 cash-back from my Interac transaction, picked up my bags of groceries, and walked out... WITHOUT taking the $60. >.<

How can anyone BE so stupid?

So I called FoodFare, and the manager said they can't do anything about it tonight but will know more after they do cash-out tomorrow morning. He advised me to call back at about 11 am. Hopefully the cashier didn't just pocket the money... I try to remain optimistic about human nature, but still... *shakes head*

Oh, and did a bit of research today thanks to [livejournal.com profile] elaryn's tip about diabetes and the flu, and it's not pretty. Ketoacidosis can set in pretty quick, as well as the infection causing an overall elevation of blood sugar levels. I had no idea... 0_o. So I've updated George on what to keep an eye out for (a fruity smell to my breath, sudden onset of confusion, etc), and will have to head into the emergency ward if I start vomitting, having diarrhea, or experiencing abdominal pain.

On the other hand... I just put on some apple juice to mull with spices for the folks coming to ritual tonight, and the whole house smells amazing. Unfortunately Terri had to cancel this afternoon, but three others are still attending as far as I know. *hugs Terri, if necessary through Roger if he's the one reading this post*
