Awake, with a cup of coffee in me, and already quite a bit done today. I received the corrected line artwork for the HBGN2 revised cover, married it up to the color I did on Saturday, and sent it off to Jim -- along with a request for comps (complimentary copies of the issues I've worked on) and an update on the pages of HBGN4 that I haven't received yet, all cc'd to Terry Nantier, the president of NBM. If that doesn't get the wheels greased, nothing will.

I have an appointment with my psychiatrist, Dr. S, at 3: 30 pm today to discuss how I'm doing on the new medication regimen. The answer is "not as well as I'd hoped", given that sustained period of really black depression last week. Tomorrow is my appointment with the head of the Psychiatry Department at the Health Sciences Centre; Dr. S requested the consultation because of the treatment-resistant nature of what I'm going through on a long-term basis. *sigh* I know it's for my own good, but such things always fill me with dread... part of me is still afraid that they'll do what my mother did all those years, tell me I'm "overreacting" and should just get over it. Fortunately, treatment-resistant depression is now in the professional lexicon and recognized as a serious illness. We'll see how it goes.

After Dr. S, a trip downtown to Toad Hall Toys to pick up enough flash paper for Tuesday's Full Moon ritual as well as the two Samhain rituals I'm holding this year. Wonderful stuff, flash paper... maybe I'll stop in at Red River Books as well and see if there are any used CDs or books there that catch my eye.

This evening... bellydancing! I haven't practiced at all in the last two weeks, but will do the best I can...

*dies and is dead*

Today the bellydancing instructor introduced us to two particularly diabolical moves -- the Camel and one that I think is called the Pelvic Scoop. The Camel involves undulating your belly in and out; the Pelvic Scoop involves raising and lowering your pubic bone as if you were either scooping water OUT of a pool or pouring water back IN.

Repeat for the better part of forty minutes.

... remind me why I wanted to take this course again? >.< Oh, yeah -- physical fitness. Well, it's certainly giving me a workout!

The instructor advised us all to take a hot bath of shower tonight, because "there's a good chance your back will hate you later tonight or tomorrow". I can already feel the spinal love.

Picked up the flash paper this afternoon, as well as a detailed psychological survey from Dr. Enn's office that took me almost 45 minutes to fill out. Presumably this will help him when I bring it into his office tomorrow.

Also, received page 83 of HBGN4 via the FTP site, as well as the 6-page preview... juuuuuust in time for the Full Moon ritual to completely bollocks up my scheduling tomorrow. Thank you, Daniel. If I had a bat, you would be feeling some kneecap love right about now.

On the other hand, I also received emails from both Jim and Terry Nantier letting me know that my lack of comps on past issues is an oversight and I will be receiving back issues, as well as future issues. This is a good thing.

Ow. Off to take a shower.
