Just got back from lunch with a friend we see maaaaaybe once a year. After the lunch George and I went shopping at a local used book store, and $64 later came away with a bunch of Edgar Rice Burroughs paperbacks, Order of the Phoenix, Progressive Wicca by Janet Farrar and another author I hadn't heard of, and The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco. Good readin's in there -- once I get the Hardy Boys monkey off my back.

On the way home we stopped at the PharmaPlus to pick up mail from their postal outlet. Three pieces: one, a set of comps for the fourth Hardy Boys graphic novel (and very fine it looks); two, a present from [livejournal.com profile] beckyh2112 (an Emerald Rose LIVE CD called "Fire in the Head" -- squeeeee!); three... wait for it...

... the Kathy Smith step training video I originally ordered from Lasercorner.

*headdesk, repeatedly*

NOW what the hell do I do?

[livejournal.com profile] beckyh2112, I intend to start my working shift by popping the CD into my Walkman and listening to it start to finish. Thanks SO much for the gift, and the lovely letter you wrote that accompanied it. :-) Your thoughts and prayers are certainly appreciated.

(Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] eastpath, I finally mailed off your present. Sorry it took so long. >.< You should be getting it in a few days... hope you like it!)

*hugs tightly* I'm so glad you like it. Emerald Rose is such a wonderful band, and I thought you'd love them.

*snuggles!*

I got your gift yesterday. Very nice, though I'm not exactly sure what you do with a tea towel. Must now construct a letter-opener-holder out of sculpey.

Emerald Rose is, so far, delightfully Pagan in orientation. :-) (I've only listened to about a third of the album -- I had to keep my ears open because my computer is set to mark off the hours so I can time myself on each page I'm coloring.)

A tea towel? Most people use them to dry dishes, at least up here. The one I got you is also suitable as a wall hanging or a small table cover, though, given that it has the map o' Canada on it. ;-)

I'll probably end up using it for either option - dish towels are always nice. *grins*

Emerald Rose is a very Pagan band. I take the ribbing they give Christianity in good stride, because it is wonderful music. *smiles* Have you gotten to "Never Underestimate a Woman (With the Goddess in Her Eyes)" yet?

Well, we are four pagan guys, but we respect christianity. I do have problems with some people who call themselves christian. Glad you enjoy our music.

*Beep*

We're sorry, the music fangirl you are trying to reach has collapsed into a ball of squee. Please try again later.

*waves excitedly*

Glad I got introduced to it in the first place. One of my friends took me to Evening at Bree two years ago and it's been general love and adoration ever since. Wish I got to see you guys live more than once a year, though.

We are traveling more. What part of the country do you live in?

Southeast Louisiana, though I'd trek as far east as the Florida panhandle for a weekend concert.

Just in case you don't get e-mail comment notifications...

I was scrolling back through [livejournal.com profile] neo_ex_machina, trying not to actually look at anything, to find [livejournal.com profile] surichan's song list to complete my rapidly-growing playlist. I found the ficlet excerpt of yours...

My comment is as follows.

*jawdrop*

I think... I didn't read this, when I saw it before.

Saved, bookmarked, and I'm about to poke Asshat and MAKE him come over.

This... is EXTRAORDINARY. And you KNOW how I feel about fanfic. Perfect. Utterly. THANK you, Laurie.

Trin keeps saying you're tapped into us.

It's so true it's terrifying. I wish we could call you. Free long distance, eh?

Argh.

God.

You've GOT us.
