Well, the sirloin tip roast turned out beautifully -- served with yukon gold potatoes (baked with the roast then mashed with butter and milk) and mixed veggies, and lots of gravy... *sigh* Delicious. Finished the whole thing off with a cup of good coffee and some of that sucrose-free maple fudge I picked up. Mmmmmmmmm.

I'm seriously considering just going to bed early tonight and setting the alarm for 7 or 8 am, then getting up and getting in a full, satisfying day of work before going to Jeff's game tomorrow night. I got an email back from the Marvel Masterworks editor stating that my samples are some of the best he's seen, and giving me some more (and more complicated) flats to lay. Whew! It's the first five pages of the first appearance of Phoenix in Uncanny X-Men, and the color I have to reproduce is quite complex.

Decisions, decisions...

A piece of really good news tonight: I made a phone call (thanks, Holly!) and found out that a local Pagan who used to make incense blends many years ago still does so. He has some Kyphi incense put up, and is also willing to sell me some raw frankincense and copal. I'd MUCH rather buy from a local supplier if I can, so this is absolutely excellent.

Mmmmmm.... I usually eschew red meat, but the roast sounds utterly nummy! (And now the Merv's mouth is watering as well...)

And I'll be keeping an eye out at Larry's Comics for that Marvel Masterworks.

Speaking of incense... A few years ago you shared a bit of incense with me. You had some and I really liked it. It smelled like a bonfire to me. Does this ring a bell, do you remember what it was called, and would it have come from the same source you just rediscovered?
