Gahhhhh. Got up WAY too late today. *beats head against wall* Once asleep, I just can't seem to get out of it; the peace of sleep is just too tempting to leave in the face of the pain of waking life. Oversleeping is such a chronic problem for me, and I have no idea of how to get around it.
Had to go downtown today to pay a couple of bills. Now that I'm back, I have to put a roast on to cook and attack a stain on the living room carpet caused by a plate of french fries, chicken, and gravy toppling off the coffee table during the post-ritual feast on Wednesday. Fortunately there was a large plastic potato chip bag on the floor directly under the spill, so it could have been a lot worse...
I forgot to mention the fudge booth at the Christmas Craft Sale in yesterday's post. 20 kinds of fudge, including three varieties of reduced sugar -- I ended up bringing home 6 large squares for George and three packages of low-sugar maple fudge for myself.
And today in my purse I discovered a purchase from last night that I forgot to unpack: six little cheesecloth bags full of mulling spices, which I'd like to try with apple juice and white grape juice over the holidays.
Also found out that the Bay doesn't carry sports equipment. Bugger. On the other hand, Zellers does -- and it's only two short bus rides away. I'll have to make some phone calls.
Off to wash the roasting pan, which was apparently drained after the last roast was made but not fully scrubbed out. Blah.
