We didn't talk about a whole lot of witchy topics at last night's Witches Meetup, but it was pretty eventful nonetheless. First off, Robin brought cards for everyone, including the staff of the Second Cup -- who reciprocated by giving our table a free plate of chocolate-covered espresso beans sprinkled with festive red sugar. Yummmm!

Second, S. and J. raided their herb supply and brought a plastic shopping bag FULL of tinier bags of herbs, each carefully labelled. I must have taken at least twelve different herbs from that bag, which stocked up my herb supply for quite some time to come -- things like sage, marigold flowers, saffron, juniper berries, hyssop, wild yam root... I ended up taking the bag home, so that tonight the Full Moon gang (actually meeting on the waxing crescent moon this month) can also have a look through them and pick and choose what they need.

Third, one of the staff members of the Second Cup approached our table and asked if we could send out some healing energy to her cat, who is currently at the vet's recovering from surgery for a urinary tract blockage. And I, who had been wondering exactly what working we were going to end up doing tonight, reflected on how sometimes the universe drops things right in your lap. So, tonight we'll be doing a healing ritual (Robin will stop at the Second Cup on her way here to pick up a photo of the cat and a sample of his hair) where we'll make an amulet bag and charge a candle that the girl can burn at home.

I got up later than planned today (big surprise there) and am writing this while I take a moment to have a cup of coffee. In a minute I'll start running around cleaning up again, but for now... mmmmm, coffee.

ETA: Dammit... also have to come up with a good Bast ritual/invocation for tonight, since none of the ones I've found online really suit. Gack.

ETA II: I'm a dope. Waxing crescent? Try waning gibbous. D'oh.

Wow... go universe :)

You work so well with Bast, I'm sure you won't have much of a problem...
