Holy crap.

Just checked the Weather Channel, and a severe winter weather warning has been issued for southern Manitoba, including the City of Winnipeg. Translation: icy temperatures and close to 10 centimetres of snow, courtesy of a Colorado low.

After going "WTF?", I went into the living room and took a look out the window. Sure enough, in the gloom of the gathering evening I saw snow gleaming on rooftops and lawns. Looks like an inch or two fell while I was squirrelled away in the studio (which is at the back of the apartment under a little roof), flatting to beat the band.

It's 1 degree Celcius out there, with a wind chill of -7 degrees. George, who just woke up, is making noises like he'd like to go out for a walk with me in the cold and dark, "to enjoy the snow". I asked him what planet he thinks he's on, lol... emotionally and physically, all I want to do is curl up somewhere warm and pull a blanket over my head.

OMG! It is too early for snow!! However, we are getting a cold front here too in Tulsa OK. Supposed to be in the low 40s tonight and only in the low 50s tomorrow. (sorry, not sure how to convert that to celcius)

The conversion of the terms of my little rant to Fahrenheit works out to a base temperture of about 31 degrees F and a wind chill value (the temperature taking the wind into account) of about 20 degrees F.

Whichever way you slice it: Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Good heavens, yall have *snow*???

It was like 80 F today, and hardly any of the trees have turned for autumn

Well, think of this as an opportunity for romantic-type winter stuff. Curl up in front of a roaring fire wrapped up in a big blanket with a cup of hot cocoa and a book. That doesn't sound so bad, does it?

I love curling up in a blankie in a warm room with hot chocholate and a good book or movie on a cold winters day...

(*is actually going to miss winter*)

Snow? Ooh, my mom would be in her glory!!!

Autumn seems to be coming very late here: the trees have hardly started to turn, and usually they're peaking by now.

Huh. And it's currently in the high seventies and humid.

I hate Virginia.
