Today I went to talk to the psych nurse at Health Sciences Centre. We agreed that another round of the 8-month Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) course might be useful, so she'll call me at the end of the week to let me know when the next opening will be.

Afterwards, a lovely dinner with Terri and Roger, followed by ice cream at the Bridge Drive-In (BDI), Winnipeg's best place for high-fat soft ice cream and silky-smooth hot fudge:

Swarming around the BDI? That fixture of summer in Manitoba, the mayfly, also known as the fishfly:

The biggest ones are about an inch and a quarter long from nose to the end of the tail, not including the long delicate ovipositors. Squirmy little buggers, too, but still beautiful to me. :-)

I've seen a few of those mayflies on occasion ... they are creepy little guys, somehow beautifully strange.

*sigh*
Winnipeg looks nice and cool.
We're thinking about a vacation in Canada or the U.S. Northeast this October, and I have seen some ads for Canada Rail trips -- Winnipeg to Churchill, to see polar bears.

Curious -- do you know anything about this?

Hey, we get those little fellows too! Though I think they're a bit smaller here.
