Kaja's official announcement that I'm no longer on Girl Genius can be found here.
So, Cheyenne will be coloring the book, and has already done some beautiful work on it.
Feelings of inadequacy... growing... :-P
Seeing it in print really brings it home. And God, suddenly it hurts. I devoted a lot of creativity and, well, devotion to GG, doing the best possible painting on it and trying my damnedest to made it the most gorgeous book I could. And now it's just... gone. I've been replaced.
I wonder now if any of my work was worth the candle.

I'm also tempted to discreetly void some of my saliva on the stray issues of GG that turned up at the comic book/sci-fi stuff store I frequently nip into when I'm downtown. Anything to screw them over for screwing you over.

However, if they'd REALLY wanted to screw me over, they wouldn't be offering me the first three issues to color -- they'd have also kept that in-house. Considering their financial circumstances, I'm not about to begrudge that particular gift horse. They didn't owe me those three issues, and I'm glad to have them.
And Kaja's letter/attitude was actually quite civil, almost apologetic, so I can't really complain there either. I'm just sad to have lost the job (in spite of the headaches/hair-tearing it's brought me lately).
Your protectiveness/loyalty is always appreciated. *hugs*
