Took my first doses of Ritalin at noon and 4 pm yesterday -- 10 mg total. No real effect that I noticed (which is something of a relief, since I was afraid I'd be bouncing off the walls). Ah, well, perhaps it's cumulative. I just took my 1 pm dose today, so we'll see how I feel in a few hours.
Went to see "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" last night with John and Susan. Hmmm, pleasantly surprised. Rating: 7/10. It had some major structural problems and left out a lot of really cool stuff from the original source material, but there were enough laugh-out-loud moments to make it an enjoyable viewing experience.
After the movie, dinner at Pasta La Vista. My meal: Brie-stuffed chicken with garlic mashed potatoes, grilled red peppers, and spaghetti squash, followed by half a bowl of ice cream. I blew my carbs, but not by too much, and the overall gourmet dining experience was worth it. The service was five-star, friendly and attentive. Definitely a restaurant I'd visit again.
Also, I got almost a whole page of Girl Genius done yesterday. My enthusiasm for checking the Yahoo! group, or even viewing the online comic, has waned considerably since Kaja did a major costume color change on a couple of my pages without giving me a heads-up, thus throwing off the palette/balance of the page's composition... it makes me feel quite undervalued, truth be told.
This on top of being kept out of the loop re: several pieces of information that would have helped me color the book more accurately, including not being told the ethnicity of a certain character and then carded later for not knowing about it... *sigh*. Most disheartening.
And now Kaja isn't returning my emails, in particular an important one requesting the color adjustment settings on the costume in question, since it comes up on future pages. This is very frustrating, since if they try to adjust it from the flattened file on their end, they'll lose all the highlights I've painted onto the costume. *headdesk*
So, off to paint more. Maybe there is some effect from the Ritalin, after all, because the thought of tackling it doesn't reduce me to tears.
