Folks are coming over tonight at 7:30 pm for a Shrine of Diana ritual for Beltane. The plan, as I understand it, is to rendevous here, drag the altar to nearby Munsen Park, conduct the rite, and come back for tea and nibblies. "Nibblies" being provided by other people, since nowhere in my notes of the last meeting can I find a mention that I'm supplying anything besides coffee, tea, the altar, the athame, and various other bits of ritual gear.
Another page and a half of Girl Genius got done today, and the cheque arrived via FedEx just fine. *more sobs of relief* We have some money! We can pay the rent and buy medication! Thank the Gods!
On a more panicky front, I just got an email from the people at NBM Papercuts saying that (a) the artist on Hardy Boys isn't producing the artwork fast enough, but they have a few pages for me anyway, and (b) they want the entire 88-page graphic novel finished by early June. Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off my feet. Whatever they're smoking, baby, I want some!
Oh, and if you can find it, Ross Chocolates is THE best brand of no-sugar-added chocolate I've found so far. It was recommended to me by a friend of George's who'd tried them while he was on the Atkins diet and ended up liking them SO much he never went back to regular candy at all. Each bar is 34 g, costs $1.69 at Shopper's Drug Mart, and depending on the brand has either 2 or 4 net impactible carbs. And they're absolutely, totally delicious, better than some "regular" chocolate bars out there. WAHOOOO!
