And on a completely unrelated note to my previous entry, I'll announce that in celebration of some regular comic work coming in, our household will soon have two new items. One of them is a gorgeous LaCie 19" Electron Blue monitor, complete with spiffy light-blocking hood. This monitor is one of the best out there, and we were able to get it from someone else in Winnipeg via the classified section on the Mantek site. $310 dollars, delivered. Bonus!
The second purchase is more personal. I've been looking for a nice, plain athame (the Wiccan ritual knife which lies on the altar, representing the male principle for what should be fairly obvious reasons) for some time now, to supplement the small, delicate curved one I use for private ritual. In public/group work, I needed something a little more substantial, something that would be easily visible across a circle of one hundred people. And on eBay, I found it:
The auction info read: "Simple stainless steel knife. Blade length is 5 1/2" The perfect everyday athame - with a simple and traditional style - a lovely addition to a traditional altar. Overall length is 9". Comes with black sheath. Double edged blade."
Absolutely perfect.
