Livejournal down?

Livejournal appears to be totally down. No pages are loading; I'm not even getting an error message. They just... keep failing to load. And my latest attempt to crosspost an entry resulted in:

Failed to crosspost entry to crowdog66@LiveJournal: Failed to connect to http://www.livejournal.com/interface/xmlrpc.

I wonder what they're up to?

I doubt it's anything good.

Unless they're rolling back the FB/T nonsense, in which case they're actually doing something reasonable for a change.

A quick answer to the question of whether or not Livejournal is down can always be found here. I am curious as to the cause, in the a purely Schadenfreude sense. It could be a routine "down" (that happens, after all), a "down" because of something Livejournal has done, or a "down" because of something someone else has done, such as a hack from Facebook. We'll see. :D

I seriously doubt it, that quickly, but one never knows. It doesn't make sense that the site would be down completely if they were just rolling back the FB/Twitter integration, though, so either something else is awry somewhere like they're actually implementing a complete merge with Faceborg, which will make me laugh and laugh if that's the case ("Mine is and evil laugh! HaHa!"/Firefly geekery), or they've pissed of some /b/tards or sommat.

I'm in. The reposting ticky boxes are still there on comments, and I can't tell that anything's changed on my Account Settings (i.e., still no way to prevent others from reposting comments).

Another friend suggested that perhaps it was the pingbacks that were affecting LJ, much like those free v-gifts they kept giving out. *g*
