Last night I dreamed about Micawber. He was our big boy, and he died in March 22nd of this year. He was 9 years old. We loved him very much. In the dream, I held him and played with him again, enjoying the feeling of his big, warm, solid body and his lusty purr. The dream was over much too soon.

I suppose I dreamed about him because this was roughly the time of year when we found him on the street, lost and with an infected tail wound that would have killed him if we hadn't taken him in. This was also the time of year when he got a little clingy, crawling into our laps whenever he could, even when we were trying to work. Perhaps he had some memory of being abandoned. We took time to give him comfort whenever he asked for it.

There's a tribute page to him here:

RIP, Micawber. We still miss you, and we still love you.

((hugs))
this brought a tear to my eye, hon. Micawber is very happy in the afterlife i'm sure, chasing lots of squirrels and mice and romping in the sunshine :)
You and your husband and Emmie gave him a loving home, and he still knows that love and cherishes it i'm sure.

The platic Wrap is just in case Micawber decided to lay on it in the bathroom again **grins**.

BTW... are you planning to hold Samhain again this year? I'm willing to help organize if you need help. :-)
