Holy shit, what a week!
Mike Gagnon finally got back to us yesterday (we've been trying to get in touch with him and getting an answering machine and no reponse to our emails), saying that he WILL pay us and hopes to salvage a working relationship with us. *snerk!*
Richard C., the person who George worked with on "Captain Canuck" in the '70s and who recommended the project to George in the first place, has agreed to pay us the $1500 dollars we're owed (hopefully sometime this week) and intends to take over the project.
And "Girl Genius" continues apace, though we only have 11 pages so far which may make hitting an end-of-month deadline pretty difficult.
*pant pant pant!*
On a personal note... on Monday, my psychiatrist okayed a Remeron increase to 45 mg and dropping the Effexor entirely -- however, after spending much of Tuesday shaking, rattling, and rolling with anxiety, I've gone back on the Effexor. I forgot to call in the off-work extension to Ipsos-Reid (I was scheduled to go back tomorrow), and since I worked all night last night I didn't get up until 9 pm today and just put in a rather panicked message to their Human Resources person (who called this afternoon inquiring about my scheduling) saying "no, I'm on extended leave! Don't expect me to show up tomorrow! Ahhhhhh!" (Why did I forget to call in the extension? Effexor termination side-effect anxiety, AND I'm just plain stupid, lol!)
Fannishly speaking, I've been getting some excellent beta back on "Strange Attractors", the NC-17 Smith/Neo Matrix slashfic I'm working on. The plot has stretched out to include a sequel as well as a couple of short, fairly humorous pieces... this pairing is working well for me, in spite of my initial good-natured bumbling around trying to get the universe in perspective.
Other than that, not much to report. I am working my little tail off, writing in spare moments, and thinking of Toronto, where George has an application in to an art production house with a decent prospect of getting a look-in.

Sorry to hear about the trouble you had with your meds! I've had some concerns with the 5-HTP I take for my own mood swings: The kind I'm taking has a jigger of Vitamin B12 added to it to help the 5-HTP kick in better, and I was afraid that would interact with the V-B12 in the multi-vitamin I take... so I've started taking the multi-vitamin at night and the 5-HTP in the morning... and now, since apparantly V-B12 helps improve lucid dreams, the extra jigger has been causing me to have some in-te-rest-ing dreams lately... Including dreams like a crossover between H.P. Lovecraft and the "Matrix" series... Ay! ::Makes mental note to read something nice and dull before she goes to bed tonight::

Could be worse. You could be trying to deal with your colicky three-month old son crying at all hours of the night... It's common knowledge I'm a night owl, but I need my beauty sleep like everyone else... Gotta do something to maintain my devilish good looks.
