The lost cat DOES belong to the woman in suite #9, who apparently has had some trouble with an ex-boyfriend (involving a domestic disturbance and the police), at least according to our caretaker. And the cat has been in the public hallway twice this week, so the caretaker is going to have a talk with her about that.

Frankly, I don't much care what her personal story is as long as the cat is being properly cared for and is not in danger. Which is a concern right now, but I'm going to try to put that out of my mind. I have to get a lot of work done today and the cat adventure has definitely impacted my productivity.

Selfish? Yes. But at this moment, necessary. *throws random curses at people who can't care for their bloody animals properly...*

I called the building owner (since the caretaker isn't home right now) and he opened up #9 so that the cat could be put back inside. All's well that ends well. (I hope.)

I'm certain that the cat, at least, is grateful for your kindness. He looks like a charmer.

Face it, Laurie. The goddess, so to say, has your address.
