I'm writing this from my mom's place. She's fast asleep on the couch; they gave her fast-acting Gravol at the hospital at the first twinge of nausea when she started the chemo, and it has zonked her RIGHT out. I'm hoping she'll be a bit more mentally alert when she wakes up in an hour or so, because as of one hour past her brains seemed to be roughly the consistency of cream of wheat (probably a side effect of the Gravol... oh Lordy, please, don't let it be a long-acting effect of the chemo).

We found out today that she did not get any of the suites in our home block. *sigh* Now it becomes an apartment chase, trying to track down something suitable in our area or reasonably close to it. I just finished running an internet search and it looks like I'll have to wait until the first week in June to find apartments coming up for July 1st. Hair-tearing time, anyone?

We also found out that the good HB folks FedExed my cheque on Friday -- to my home address, which is worse than useless since we have no buzzer and the courier can't get into the building. So now I face a looooooooooong bus hike out to the FedEx depot at the airport to pick up the cheque. Well, it could be worse... they could have refused to send any replacement cheque at all.

I think I'm going to go lie down myself until my mom's alarm goes off; then I'll see how she's doing and, if I deem it prudent, haul myself back home again.

There might be suites available in my building at 915 Corydon and the Smith Agency is just a couple of doors down.

Hey can you see if there is any two bedroom's avail in your building come August and the rent...? :)

I'll check it out. :-) The caretaker knows to inform us when things become available.

And the rent on a two bedroom would probably be around $700.

ooh that's what we pay right now for a one bedroom.

i also directed that to sammelsadvocate since him being on corydon is still in our target area. :)

Thanks for the tip! :-) I know my mother's tastes, though, and she'd probably find 915 Corydon a bit too dark to suit her.

Good suggestion, though. I appreciate it.

Why wouldn't she get any of the apartments? I'm a bit confused on that point...

Because as far as we can tell, the owner of the building rented them to people he knows personally.

*sigh* A-hunting we will go, a-hunting we will go...
