We're just about to take our smaller cat, Emmi, in to "Exclusively Cats" down the block... in the last 24 hours, she seems to have developed a blockage in either her bowels or her bladder. Unfortunately, since she's recently gained weight by stealing the last dribs and drabs of Micawber's soft food, the swelling of her abdomen wasn't immediately apparent -- that, and both George and I have been out of the house a lot looking at apartments, and concerned with looking for an apartment even when we're at home. Otherwise we probably would have noticed it sooner.
In 45 minutes, Emmie will be evaluated by a vet. Good thoughts, energy, and prayers sent in her direction would be greatly appreciated. Alas, my gut feeling is that she won't be coming home... how dearly I hope that I'm proved wrong.

I assure you, I'll be bugging St. Francis of Assisi to intercede for your little one!
My prayers are with you and sweet Emmie...
she's in good hands at Exclusively Cats. Salem has gone there for all his check ups and the staff is incredible.They will take good care of her. Don't feel badly about not noticing right away, hun..sometimes it can be hard to tell when kitties aren't feeling their best as you know. If you need anything, i'm just a phone call or email away..let me know.
