Tonight we cooked up an inside round roast, and after we ate, Emmie got a bit of beef with some warm gravy.
HAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPYYYYYYYYY cat!!! Afterwards she lay down on the couch between me and George and just purred, and purred, and purred, while giving us that slit-eyed look that has been called "the kitty kiss" and basically means: "I loooooooooooove you!" And possibly: "I don't know how you go out there, hunt down cows, kill them, rip off huge chunks of meat, and bring them back just for me, but THANK YOU!!!"
Yep, good times in Catsville tonight.
EDITED TO ADD: Update... Emmie is currently sprawled flat on the couch with legs lying in all directions, completely conked out. She NEVER lies on the couch. Apparently the Glory of the Beef suddenly overcame her and dropped her in her tracks. :-D
