Hello, all...
One of my cats, Micawber, has fallen ill. We're not sure yet what's wrong with him, but he's lost enough weight to be noticable (he's always been a plump fellow), his coat quality has suffered a little, his nose is cool and dry, and he's a bit listless. On the positive side, no vomiting, bowel movement change, trouble/pain urinating, or palpable masses in the abomen or neck. He's no more or less sociable than usual, and still enjoys being brushed, petted, and generally treated affectionately -- that is, he hasn't become withdrawn the way most seriously ill cats tend to do -- and he still asks for his meals and eats them enthusiastically, though he seems to be favoring softened food over hard kibble.
It could just be age catching up with him (he's 8 1/2 years old, after all, and some cats seem to age overnight) -- we've called in the mobile vet just to be sure, and he'll be coming by on Tuesday evening. And of course we'll take Micawber to the nearby emergency clinic right away if he takes a turn for the worse in any way.
But I'd appreciate any prayers or magick anyone would consider doing on his behalf. He's a wonderful cat, one of the joys of my life... I've seldom known a finer pet. If it's our time to lose him, I hope he'll end up going quickly and without pain, but of course I would be terribly sorry to see that happen...
So, I'm asking folks to say a prayer or do a spell on his behalf. May the Lady Bastet smile upon him, and may everything happen for the best.

Micawber is in my prayers..
I will ask St. Francis of Assisi to look after your kitty in my prayers tonight, and Salem will say his prayers too :)
