The stomach is fine. On to Wen-Do!

(Yes, that's the proper way to spell it... I was mistaken in my last post. Live and learn, live and learn.)

I'm not usually up this early *yawn*. There's time to have a shower, make coffee, snarf down a bowl of yogurt and granola, and then it's out the door with eastpath and onto a bus (or rather a couple of buses) to the University of Manitoba.

Murg. *yawns again* A morning person I am not.

Exhausted

Six hours of Wen-Do class, three of them full of hard physical activity, tired me right out. Then I had to pick up a couple of roasted chickens at Safeway and come home to run a Full Moon Group ritual.

We didn't do much, just a variation of the scrying exercise that was done by the inner court on Wednesday and a spell to help an absent member obtain a service dog, but I'm dead beat. I just climbed out of a hot bath and I'll soon be crawling into a warm bed.

Tomorrow we go to George's sister's place out in Selkirk, about an hour north of the city, for Easter dinner.

More about Wen-Do later tomorrow. Right now I can barely put a sentence together.

Sneaky cat!

Oh, Emmie Emmie Emmie...

We had roast chickens for the feast this evening, and only one of them was eaten -- picked down to the bone except for the wings, which nobody seemed to want. So I put the second whole chicken in the fridge and sat down to do some Internet stuff, leaving the pan with the wings on the stove.

A few minutes ago I got up to get a drink and found our cat Emmie crouched at the entrance to the kitchen, chewing on something. When she saw me coming she scampered away, and on the floor I saw an object that I did not at first recognize because you never expect to see it on the floor.

That's right. One chicken wing, with attached shoulder bones, partly gnawed.

I put it and the rest of the chicken carcass in the garbage can at once, but not before showing the nibbled wing to George, who rolled his eyes and sighed.

Emmie is still licking her lips. Mmmmm, chicken grease.
