"It is green." [/random Data quote]

Our couch from Terri and Roger has arrived, and for a long minute after it was set up George and I just stared at it.

It is VERY bright -- somewhere between "green apple" and "fluorescent pea soup" in hue. George had been under the impression that it was closer to teal. I knew it was yellower than that, so I wasn't as surprised.

Personally I think it looks very fetching with the red throw pillows we inherited from my mother. (Unfortunately, without a digital camera I can't give you the full effect; perhaps later this evening eastpath will be willing to take a shot with her own camera so I can post a picture.) George, while he doesn't mind the color, thinks it's a bit too bright to go properly with our other furniture and wants to get a brown blanket to cover it with. It looks like we'll be coming to a compromise: the couch will be covered for everyday use and only uncovered with the red throw pillows when I have company over.

It is a feather couch, and as well as being very green, it is also very comfy. The cats aren't as annoyed/distressed as I thought they might be at a new piece of furniture which smells of other cats; when George and I sat down on it to read the paper, they came up and lay down beside us as usual. After we vacated our seats, Mina even went to sleep on it. So all is well on the four-footed front.

Now that the couch is in place, I get to replace all the stuff that I cleaned out of the hallway to make way for it. On the positive side, the studio will once again be clear and pristine. On the negative side, I hadn't realized how much I missed having a clean and empty hallway.

In other news, I am still cramping and faintly nauseated. Bloody hell. Pun intended.

This afternoon I do HB (to a pressing deadline that I just received from my editor) and also laundry. This evening George and I go over to have dinner with eastpath and her fiance, who only live about fifty feet away from us down the hall.
