Detailed flats are finished, and true color flats done on a few pages. As I noted earlier, once the true colors are laid in the job is almost finished, so I might be able to finish THAT part of the job tomorrow -- if not, certainly on Friday. From there, I might be able to get 10 or 20 pages done per day if I really boogie.

Bedtime for Crowdogs, I think.

Just got back from lunch with a friend we see maaaaaybe once a year. After the lunch George and I went shopping at a local used book store, and $64 later came away with a bunch of Edgar Rice Burroughs paperbacks, Order of the Phoenix, Progressive Wicca by Janet Farrar and another author I hadn't heard of, and The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco. Good readin's in there -- once I get the Hardy Boys monkey off my back.

On the way home we stopped at the PharmaPlus to pick up mail from their postal outlet. Three pieces: one, a set of comps for the fourth Hardy Boys graphic novel (and very fine it looks); two, a present from [livejournal.com profile] beckyh2112 (an Emerald Rose LIVE CD called "Fire in the Head" -- squeeeee!); three... wait for it...

... the Kathy Smith step training video I originally ordered from Lasercorner.

*headdesk, repeatedly*

NOW what the hell do I do?

[livejournal.com profile] beckyh2112, I intend to start my working shift by popping the CD into my Walkman and listening to it start to finish. Thanks SO much for the gift, and the lovely letter you wrote that accompanied it. :-) Your thoughts and prayers are certainly appreciated.

(Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] eastpath, I finally mailed off your present. Sorry it took so long. >.< You should be getting it in a few days... hope you like it!)

Thirteen finished Hardy Boys pages. Count 'em. THIRTEEN. And I've only been working about 6 hours.

I am on fire. I am truly mighty! Hoo-YAH!

... heh.

Taking a quick break for some supper, then see how I feel after that. I might just reward myself by curling up on the couch with a hot cup of tea and reading a few chapters of Order of the Phoenix, then get to bed early so I can be up and working at a good time tomorrow.

Or, I might step the pace back a bit and just lay true colors rather than doing finished modelling, which is what I've been doing today. This will set me up well for working tomorrow.

*says a quick prayer of thanks to Brigid, my patron Goddess of all things creative, and goes off to have supper*

And ten more pages of true color down, a couple of them with complex fire effects.

On the other hand, the artist made a major gaff. On one page, the Hardy Boys are running away from an explosion, both clad in yellow coats. On the very next page, as the explosion launches them into the air, one is still wearing the yellow coat -- and the other is back in what is clearly the (previously colored) dark green hoodie with front pockets that he was wearing earlier in the issue.

Feh. I'm not being paid to play the Continuity Police, which I've already been doing on this series above and beyond the call of duty. So, Joe is wearing yellow on one page and a second later, he's dressed differently. The wonders of comics!
